Privacy policy
Who we are
Freelance Friends is the data controller for this site. You can contact us at hello@freelancefriends.co.uk.
What we collect
- Your email address, the date you signed up and your browser type, when you join our mailing list.
- Account, booking and billing details, if you become a member.
- Anonymous visit counts through Fathom, which does not use cookies or identify you.
How we use it
We use your email address to tell you about Freelance Friends, because you asked us to. You can withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us. We use member details to provide the membership you signed up for. We don't sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that we keep only what we need to make sure we don't email you again. We keep member records for as long as you are a member, and billing records for as long as the law requires.
Who processes it for us
- Convex (database), data stored in the EU.
- Amazon Web Services (sending email), from the UK.
- Vercel and Cloudflare (hosting the site and files).
- Fathom (visit counts).
- Stripe (billing), Clerk (account login) and Zoom (calls), for members.
Some of these companies may handle data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. This site only sets the cookies it needs to work, and one to remember who referred you if you arrive through a friend's link. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing us. We'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
